Fans buy comic character
Friday, February 2nd, 2007In this age of consumer-created content, this article from yesterday’s newspaper warms my heart. Fans have bought the rights to English football comic character Roy of the Rovers for £ 150, and they intend to relaunch this title.
Update : it turns out that that original press bulletin was a bit too optimistic. The Roy fans didn’t acquire the rights to the character, but rather bought some old strips for republishing. They are negotiating new strips, though. Still, it’s a nice price.
