Vintage comic ads
These ads were all published in the early fifties, when the funny papers still were funny. That said, I have a slight feeling that these examples are funny predominantly because they are a bit old-fashioned. It sure was a different time.
I work in advertising myself, and it sometimes is quite refreshing to see ads that simply tell the story they want to tell, without any wisecracks or “interesting new” takes to the matter. At least things seemed easier then…
