The Ephemerist

Over on the drawn and quarterly website, Tom Devlin offers a wonderful preview of John Porcellino’s upcoming portrait of Henry David Thoreau.  As Tom,  I’ve been a big fan of Porcellino’s work for a long time.  His King Cat comics are a rare example of how practice perfects art, and of how much you can say with only a few lines.  I for one really look forward to this book.

Art Spiegelman has provided the cover for the Spring 2008 issue of the Virginia Quarterly Review, which, as you see, also features new work by Chris Ware.
