The Ephemerist

From the pages of the May 5th issue of The New Yorker comes this illustration by Adrian Tomine.  Great as always.

Van Reid sent me these ads from the August, 1937 issue of Good Housekeeping. It is indeed quite remarkable how many ads used a comic strip format in those days, to promote everyday products. These days comics are only used in ads targeted at children, or for pop culture reference purposes. Which is a pity.
