Illustrations for Belgian daily De Standaard’s Book Fair Special 2008 (published on november 7th) were provided by Belgian artist Jan vander Veken, who went for a melancholy atmosphere, with references to the fifties and existentialism.  And crime novels.  Beautiful stuff !

    Wow, that’s beautiful. I especially love the one with the balcony, great composition / staging.
