Although I’m a great fan of the Covered Project, I didn’t care much for the way James Newell re-engineered Jacques Tardi’s classic cover to Métal Hurlant # 9, pictured above.  Those who know me, will know why…

    indeed, well spotted. back then, Tardi was one of the angry young gods of the nouvelle bd mouvement (a suivre, métal, etc).

    fair enough, nothing i could have done could have came anywhere near the beauty of this cover, so i produced something very different in style to the original, but thank you for your honesty and comment.
