Talk like a balloon

These ads for mobile operator Movistar (by Young & Rubicam Argentina) are not only very nicely executed (Illustrations by  Diego Escalada, photography by Martín Kohler), they also illustrate some of the quite interesting, inherent contradictions of the ultimate comics grapheme that is the word balloon.

On the one hand, it allows to compress a discussion to a single exchange, that in real life would take some time to take place.  Also, thanks to the graphical nature of the word balloon, both partners in the discussion can talk at the same time and still come to an agreement.
