In case you had doubts about the seriousness in “Flash Gordon” (the movie, not the comic strip), here’s Alex Ross to take them away with an impressive cover to the new DVD edition. At least now Flash is truly the saviour of the universe. Sadly, they can’t pimp the movie the same way. Oh well…

This fan made trailer for a Watchmen movie just blew me away. The makers have successfully transposed the pulpy art and color that Gibson used in the comic, to a visual language that’s reminiscent of B-movies. And Rorschach’s voice is just awesome ! I can’t wait for this to be picked up by some honch at WB…

The Legend Of Jack Sparrow

Three guys from my godson’s class have been making their own spin on the Pirates Of The Carribean films. I’m quite amazed at what kids can accomplish with a few basic tools these days. The editing is a bit basic, but the atmosphere and the humor are bang on. They have grabbed the character of Captain Jack very well, adding a pythonesque quality to his spiel.

Also, watch for the accidental word play at the beginning, when the executor mispronounces “Crown”…
