Dupuy & Berbérian do Roland Garros

After capturing the hearts of all women by presenting George Clooney in a series of self-depreciating, and quite funny, television ads, they go after the comic buff.  On their Ultimate Events site, they have moved from the Cannes Film Festival to the French Open Tennis Tournament with four original takes on the event.  Amongst them is a lovely little comic by French comic Wunderkinder Dupuy et Berbérian about how one may bluff his way into the Roland-Garros VIP area.

Even after the big exhibition about his and Charles Berbérian’s work in Angoulême was ready, festival co-président Philippe Dupuy had to make a few last-minute alterations.

(translation – the original caption reads “Man sitting”, but Dupuy changed it in “No, standing up !”)

Moody

I was quite moody today, and what better way to get over it than with an equally moody illustration by French superstars Dupuy et Berbérian (from the New York Times Magazine, Oct. 23, 2005 issue).

This Dupuy and Berbérian comic was published as an online exclusive on the website of the French weekly Télérama in july 2006. It’s basic D&B stuff, which would look good on a larger scale, if you ask me.
