Over at L’Agence eureka Pita or Franck (it’s never quite clear) have posted some very cool covers of the early French comics /humour magazine “L’Epattant” (from 1910). I saw some of the material from this magazine earlier (which is best known as the book in which Louis Forton’s Pieds Nickelés made their debut) earlier this year, when I visited the Angoulème Comics Festival. I remember I was amazed at how little it had aged, how fresh it looked, even on that old, crumbling newsprint.
