This I like : cartoonists “covering” classic comic cover images, as if they were songs.  No irony, no topicality or cross-references – just redo the original cover as closely as you can, in your own stylee.  So far Robert Goodin has been able to enlist Jeffrey Brown, Renee French, Fred Hembeck, Johnny Ryan, Eric Skillman, Steven Weissman and Andrew Wales, with more to come, no doubt.
