The Center For Urban Pedagogy has published a I Got Arrested, Now What ?, a “guide to the juvenile justice system”. It’s a brochure-cum-poster in comic format aimed at informing kids who get involved with the law for the first time. It introduces terminology, situations and processes in a manner that is understandable even for people who haven’t had that much formal education yet. Especially the flow chart that takes up the complete backside of the poster not only illustrates the complexity of the procedure, but also tries to make it understandable for kids without talking down to them. Quite a laudable endeavour.
PDF versions of the comic are available for free at the CUP website. Paper copies are available as well.
