Ever Meulen Does Werchter

Every year at the beginning of July, when Humo Magazine sponsors/presents the 4-day Rock Werchter music festival, it also includes an insert in the issue of that week with information, interviews and news about the festival and its artists.

And for a while now, this has become something of an annual comeback for erstwhile Humo house artist Ever Meulen, who will typically do an illustration for the insert’s cover, such as the one above, from this year.  Even though the style is a bit rougher than you’d expect, it is genuine Ever.  In a way, it even reminds me of his earliest work, which was influenced by underground comics rather than la ligne claire or the atom style.
