Aaron Renier’s take on new-fangled books

Ever since I first read Spiral-bound, I’ve been an avid fan of Aaron Renier‘s work, with its combination of profound naivity and excellent semi-cute art.  Last week, he guest-spotted on the books-and-libraries web comic Unshelved with an incredibly smart take on the last wave of Stuff That Will Replace Books.  The cool part is that he used Roald Dahl’s Matilda to make his case, and hits its tone as well as Quentin Blake’s illustrative style, bang on the head.

It’s gems like these that make the sun shine.
