Remember Garfield Minus Garfield or Calvin Without Hobbes, and how removing one element from a popular strip suddenly added a whole layer of existential angst ? Well, here is the nec plus ultra of the genre, and it’s even more formalistic than its predecessors.
3eanuts takes a vintage Charles Schultz cartoon and simply chops off the final panel, completely revealing the characters’ underlying existential angst, and leaving the reader clambering for closure. At worst, it’s a nice trouvaille, while at best, it’s nothing less than disturbing.
