Alien is not a saga

The excellent science fiction and pop culture site Tor presents The Real Struggle for the Heart of Alien by Faith Erin Hicks (Demonology 101 and Zombies Calling), a thoughtful and creative one-page analysis of what Ridley Scott’s seminal film is about.  And she’s right : it’s not a long-winding saga, it’s a very down-to-earth account of an awful day at work.

I have a soft spot for non-fiction comics – attempts to use the comics format to present an idea, a reasoning instead of a narrative.  I’ve seen comics essays and treatises before (the first that springs to mind, naturally, being Scott McCloud’s Understanding comics), but this must be one of the first comics columns that I’ve ever seen.
