Christian Cardona just beat Hollywood’s development hell and made a film version of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s heavy-duty comic book Y: The Last Man.  It’s very (and I mean, very) impressive, and manages to translate the quite far-fetched premise of the comic (all men in the world have died, except one) with all its consequences in terms of comedy, drama, politics and action.
It looks more like a pilot to a TV series than a movie, but isn’t that what a modern-day comic is like, a paper version of a HBO series? Wouldn’t mind having a peek at how the resources for this production were scraped together, though.
