To celebrate their 500th show, This American Life commissioned an illustration from Dutch illustrator and graphic novel creator Tim Enthoven. It’s quite a stunning pieces, showing radio story subjects climbing “brain mountain”. Enthoven previously also did illustration work for the New York Times, Die Zeit, Philips and other outlets, and published his first graphic novel, Binnenskamers, in 2011.
Other illustrations for the 500th American Life are by Ben Wiseman and Steve Dressler, who did a beautifully retrofuturist piece.
