Zen Pencils is great, and easily one of the best webcomics currently around. The way Gavin Aung Than selects the quotes and then adapts them in a style that is never even slightly off the mark, is incomparible. And when he picks an obviously inspiring speech, like internet favorite Bill Watterson’s Cartoonist Advice, and masterfully mimics Watterson’s landmark style, there’s no other way to put it than, that thing was born to go viral.
So much so, that it even gets replies in the same form, calling naivité and opportunism in mr. Watterson’s speech. Read David “Shortpacked!” Willis‘s views of a thirty-something on the matter… Can’t say I don’t agree…
