To celebrate International Cash Day (or, the birthday of the Man in Black) on February 26, Seattle radio KEXP invited cartoonist David Lasky to create a short strip about 1968, possibly the most consequential year in Johnny Cash‘s life.
One can only hope that this little gem is only the first episode of a Cash-centred sequel to Lasky’s quite wonderful 2012 graphic novel, The Carter Family: Don’t Forget This Song. And if not, in all its conciseness, this is quite a lovely little strip.
